And I don't begin to know what to do about it. It's thick greenish mucus literally non stop.
Pediatrician says it's "a cold or a virus"
I've tried everything I know of; elderberry syrup vitamin C, cold calm homeopathic nothing is helping.
He's also coughing but not terribly
He's 8m old, mainly still on formula, he really doesn't eat much except sweet potato jars and occasionally oatmeal so I can't imagine it's an allergy....
Any ideas

It might be an airborn allergy. I have kids allergic to pollen, to dust, to mould particles in the air. Try an antihistamine and see if its helps.

Very possibly allergy. Environmental can be dust mites, pollen, ragweed, roach, etc. you can find a local allergist to do testing.

Do you have mold in your house/apartment?
My cousins sister's kids were sneezy/runny nosed for months and then they found out they had a spot of mold in their house.
The kids were fine once the mold was removed

Give allergy medicine religiously every single day for 2 weeks and see if there's any improvement!
Is there carpet in baby's room? Plush toys?
Close windows and use A/C.
My airborne allergies are worst in September.
(Are you nursing?)

Is the formula dairy? That would be my first suspicion

I'm not nursing unfortunately.
He's on the same dairy formula since he's born, so how could that be an allergy if it came on so suddenly?
How do can I know if it's mold or dust?
I mean, there's always dust somewhere but I think my house is relatively clean.
no mold I notice anywhere.
No carpets in house.

You can try cutting a raw onion and putting it in a plate next to her crib. It was the solution for a lot of friends!
