My kids often get similar outfits since it’s what they like. If it’s different colors it’s fine that makes it different enough.

This reminds me of what my son once said-
1 DDs was telling her sister that she saw a girl with the same skirt as her, just in a different color.
To which my DS asked (~ 16) - "What do you mean? All skirts are the same, just different colors."
No amount of explanations about styles, materials, lengths, shapes, patterns, could persuade him that not all skirts are the same (except the color).
So what I'm trying to say is - two different styled skirts with two different styled tops, in different colors, are not similar at all.
They are 2 completely independent and different outfits. It's great!

And I really am.
But now im.thinking to myself that maybe it's silly to have 2 very aimilar styled outfits for the season. I don't plan on getting her more until things are on sale. |
Who cares if it is silly? She needs two and she found two that she likes. Whether the other girls will see them as too similar - it's her peer group. Let her choose.

And seriously....I was the teen whose taste was never right and whose mom always knew better. I inherited (hand-me-downs from a friend) Shabbat outfits that I liked. They were the only ones I had that I liked. My mother did not like that I always wore the same few and not what she bought.
To this day I hate clothes shopping, prefer hand-me-downs, think I look ugly in everything, and don't trust my own taste in clothes - anyone's clothes. I have come to terms with the fact that my taste is different, off, not good, doesn't look nice, but I like it and I wear what I like and is comfortable because that's what's important to me, even if I look different than everyone else. And it bothers me that I look different but I don't know how to dress and that's that, I have more important things to do in life than try to look nice. I just won't look nice, because I don't share my mother's taste and thus don't know how to dress, and that's that.
