10 cents each. Other Jewish stores might follow now too

Speaking of glatt mart, does anyone else's ebt card have trouble swiping there? My ebt card works in every other store besides there so I know it's not my card.

Wasn't this supposed to happen but then COVID hit and the bag tax was put on hold?

Other jewish stores also do. Kosher palace does. And all the non Jewish stores charge like target, aldi, CVS etc... Bring your own bags...whats the big deal?

Kosher palace and other Jewish stores have already been charging for a while. Non Jewish stores too. I'm surprised that glatt mart has gotten away this long without charging.

(And yes, it's very annoying. I haven't been able to adjust to the "bring your own bag" business. And I don't think it's sanitary. And I reuse plastic bags for all sorts of things.)

You can wash and reuse cloth shopping bags, and just use plastic for things that can easily cause contamination, like packages of raw meat. Most places still use very thin plastic bags for produce without charging, so those items are protected. It's not a big deal once you get used to it.

Been in UK a long time already. And no plastic straws, plastic plates are hard to find etc.

Still, good for the fish - less bags to wind up in the sea.

Live in California. We have had this law for a long time. It really isn't a big deal. I keep a bag of bags in my car. I try to only use washable cloth bags for vegetables and anything not packaged. Many stores have free small produce bags (for bagging apples etc) so that keeps them clean too.

Every so often I toss all the bags in the wash or just throw a couple in with my kitchen towel load.

We have a lot less trash because of this rule. Yes if I forget it is 10 cents but it is super rare that I do.

I thought people on wic/ent don’t get charged? At least that’s what I think it is on Baltimore. In Baltimore we’re also charged for bags except if it’s a store with only one 1-3 locations. So the frum stores can all give out bags without charging. We just have to remember to take bags with us to Aldi and Target etc.

Officially wic and snap are not supposed to be exempt from bag fees in Baltimore. I don't know what actually happens.
