Is it true that the restaurants aren't glatt? How is it that people who definitely eat glatt eat there then? Wanted to confirm to know if I can eat meat there or not. Thanks

Not sure, we eat Glatt and ate there. The Hechsher is from the Kehillah in Rome.

I have a list of all kosher restaurants that are recommended in italy from the CRC (chicago). If you PM me I can send it to you.
I think there is one place in Rome that is Glatt.

We only ate out milchigs and for Shabbos we got from a takeout place (I believe they also have a restaurant) because the restaurants were not glatt. We were definitely surprised at how many frum Yidden were eating at non-glatt restaurants and figured they weren’t aware. There’s a lot of kosher food available but you have to be careful.

We were told not to eat meat, but didn't miss out, there are some great milchig places and other places had pareve. We were not there for shabbos.

We did a lot of research - for refrence in israel we do not eat beit yosef or rabbanut mehadrin, or chatam sofer, agudat yisroel.

The placed that we felt comfortable after our research:
Little Tripoli ( not in the ghetto)
Kosher Cakes
Yotvata
Baghetto ( dairy not meat)
Pasticceria Boccione (bakery)
Marlenes ( the cholov yisroel ice cream store)
There was a pizza place near the ice cream store.

Anything Chabad should hold the standard. Lybian might too especially for Beth Yosef. Always ask.

Yes, when we were there we were told that only one meat restaurant has a good hechsher. I think this is because Rome has there own minhagim for shchita. The restaurant with the good hechsher was in a different area of Rome and not in the Jewish area. Speak to chabad there and they can give you more information.
