My five year old developed this yello crusty rash behind the ears. It looks like it spread into the hairline also. When it peels it looks wet. What could this be? Was just finished with impetigo so I don’t think it’s that bec it all cleared. Also is different more peely. and yellow

I was going to say impetigo before I saw you say not impetigo.
I still think it's impetigo. It's extremely extremely resistant to treatment and antibiotics are generally not enough.

My daughter had exactly that.
I made sure to wash it very well every night in her bath and it went away completely it a few days.
I think it's just dirt build up.

So what can I do aside from antibiotics.
Can it be yeast?
I have. Nyastin and mucoprin

I have. Nyastin and mucoprin | Mupirocin is antibacterial and nystatin is antifungal
It doesn't sound like yeast to me
I would do the mupirocin but also something oral
With impetigo I find we need to attack from inside and outside and for a LONG time otherwise it comes right back

I was going to say impetigo as well, it's been going around. In my experience antibiotics worked... Why don't you see a doctor?

Yellow amd crusty sounds like impetigo. Especially if she just had it. It can easily spread to other areas.

If it’s impetigo, ask your dr for altabax instead of mupirocin. It’s magic

I feel like it’s nuts to ask for a second round of antibiotics. We just finished a strong round. Isn’t there anything else I can do if it’s localized to one spot?

My son recently had it, antibiotics did not help. I put a thick layer of Vaseline 2-3 times a day & it got better in no time bh.

I give it for at least a month each time

It sounds like yeast. My baby had it. Leaking yellow fluid behind ear tht turned crusty. If you have nystatin try thy for a few days.

It sounds a little like cradle cap. Can older kids have that?

Try zinc diaper rash cream. It keeps the area dry so that it can heal and I believe it had anti bacterial and maybe even antifungal properties in it.

I was going to post exactly this. Dc had it 2 summers ago. We kept on going back to the dr. Until finally I decided enough is enough and went to a different Dr in the group. He started asking a whole bunch of questions and ultimately diagnosed dc with impetigo. He then pulled up pictures on Google and I felt like I'm seeing dc on the screen.
We ended up giving antibiotics plus MRSA miracle from Herbari. Within 48 hours we saw a huge difference.
