Im looking for a therapist that can help my husband with his cptsd and his entire abusive childhood.
I dont know what type of therapy, but he needs something other than just talk therapy and I think he has been also doing cbt.
I dont think those are helping at all. I want him to be able to get real help and some type of relief from all of the trauma he suffered. He has been out of his parents home for over 20 years and in therapy (but obviously the wrong type) for over a decade. I need to find the right type so that he can get real help and not have the trauma dictate every single thing in his (and mine by default) life.
Jerusalem area.

Male only?
Not sure if you saw it already or not, but my husband asked me to take down the name I reccomended. He just feels funny with me referring his therapist, and I want to respect that. I'm sorry.

I hear you. Another good way to get actual reccomendations is from people in the field. Since he already his a therapist, you can start there. It's not weird to tell the therapist, we are looking for someone who does xyz, do you know of someone that would be a good fit. And it actually could be a good conversation to have with the therapist anyway. Could be he also thinks it's a good idea, and may has some thoughts as to which approaches your husband would do well with.
