I have some rolling carts with shallow drawers that are great for organizing my craft supplies.
But some drawers are less than optimal...
I actually have put some small bins in some drawers but wondering what else is out there.
The drawers are 3" high (need a bit lower) x 12 1/4 x 9 3/4 and I don't have to use every last 1/4 inch.

Most good container stores have drawer organizers intended for shallow drawers. You can check at The Container Store on line.
I got some lucite clear ones there. Also if you search for jewelry box organizers they are often shallow in depth and work well. I actually had some made to my specific measurements when I got a jewelry armoire but you don't need to go that far.
I have also recycle the tops of small decorative boxes to use and they work work. I use the bottoms also to organize bathroom shelves. These are not the tiny jewelry boxes although those could work for beads or sequins but medium decorative type of cardboard boxes that I accumulated and didn't have the heart to throw out.

Wow, great ideas! Thanks!
I have to confess I also save those boxes, not sure why, but I wasn't connecting the dots.
Maybe empty boxes from long wooden matches!

I am currently looking at a stack of them - some of them are really gorgeous. I have tried friends but no one wants them.
I also have a problem with the tin containers that fancy cookies sometimes come in.
My grandmother had one from Queen Elizabeth's coronation so you can understand how I come from a family predisposed to "hoarding.
She would keep her special butter cookies in there and hide the box in the closet but I think she knew that I knew exactly where it was hidden.
Sometimes I think it was learned behavior because my grandparents and parents grew up when they didn't sell inexpensive containers so every container was repurposed for storage. Peanut butter jars could store nails and screws. Buttons were stored in a different container.

Now who will be laughing?
(Rats, was going to write small I.e. whisper but I see I can't do it on my phone! Good thing I'm anon!)
