I am in the market for a new laptop and a new tablet. Or maybe I could get away with just one?
Previously I had a very old MacBook Pro that I kept at home and hardly ever used. Then I got an Ipad pro 11‘‘.
I had thought that it would replace a computer because it’s quicker but I hated the smaller screen.
However I do use it for some apps, for which my phone screen is too small. I have the small Iphone 13 because I hate large smartphones.

So I started looking into Ipads snd macbooks. I found my ipad pro too heavy, but ipad airs are kot lighter? How can it be? What’s the point?
Would you get a larger ipad air and the Magic Keyboard? Would it replace the laptop?
Or would you rather get a proper laptop and a cheaper tablet just for apps?
I don’t do any heavy photo or movie editing or any graphic software. I do sometimes have to work with large excel tables so a 13“ MacBook was handier for that

What is your budget?

I have an iPad, iPhone and Apple computer. I also have Apple TV 🤷‍♀️ I also have an old iPhone which I use only as a WiFi device as it is convenient to keep near the bed as it has smart functions which control thermostat, lights and window shades.

They are not interchangeable to me.

I love the iPad but I don’t do serious stuff on it because it is difficult to organize so I use the computer for that.

I use my iPhone the least because I hate talking on the phone and anything other than talking I can do better on the other devices.

I can afford two devices but not the Pro version of everything.
Also felt like ipad pro was an overkill for language learning app and my fitness app…

You don’t need the iPad Pro. I love my iPad but I just have the regular Air and it is perfect for my needs. I am in it right now. Very Happy

Then get the MacBook. Don’t know what Apps you use it or your needs. I don’t have a laptop as I use my iMac for computer stuff and my iPad for more casual stuff.

The great thing about having Apple products is that everything is synced together so perfectly. I have stuff saved on iCloud but I also use Notes a lot because it syncs automatically so anything on notes is available on all my devices. And of course contacts, email, calendar and texts are synched to all devices.

If you’re in the US look into getting second hand from swappa.com. I’ve gotten multiple devices there for a lot cheaper than new.

I would get at least one refurbished and maybe try and trade in an old device.

Why don't you get a MacBook air and iPad air.
They will both do a great job for what you need.
