My six week old has been sleeping longer and longer stretches at night. What is the most you would let her go without feeding? She has been gaining weight beautifully bH.

My sils kids sleep through the night at that age. As long as they are alert and eating well during the day I never recommend waking a sleeping baby.

My pediatrician says that once the baby starts gaining weight, you only wake them up if you need to also call the fire department, lol! He says you spend so long trying to get them to sleep, don’t also spend time trying to wake them up… as long as they are gaining weight then enjoy the longer sleep stretches!

If they are eating enough during the day and gaining nicely I would let them sleep the whole night! And count your blessings lol

I was just reminiscing how my first baby slept 8 hours straight at 6 weeks and then 12 hours by 8 weeks. Never occurred to me to wake her. She’s still a great sleeper years later

You should wake them up after a few hours as their blood sugars drop. Ask your pediatrician.

If they eat a lot by day and are going you can let them sleep as long as they like at 6 weeks. My kids did 8 hour stretches on their own by that age. But they ate every 2 hours by day.

At her one month appointment my baby’s pediatrician said no need to wake her.
