I find that I can manage with my housework better than with cooking supper. Cooking supper is such a multi-process project. I'm marrying off in 2 months and will need to cook for my couple full time. Maybe this is in the wrong forum?

Deciding what to cook
Seeing what ingredients you have at home
Going to Grocery
Unpacking bags
Take out pots
Prepare all ingredients like cutting vegetables, marinating wtvr
REMEMBERING to put on/out flame.
Serving
Putting away leftovers
Washing everything away
Wiping and putting dishes away

I feel like it's akin to climbing mount Everest.

If you have any recipes you want to email me you can at, leahwise396@gmail.com

Can’t you just make more of what you make now?

Or can’t the couple shop/cook their own food?

Maybe prep and rally will work well for you

Or having a 10 day menu that you rotate so you know what ingredients to have

I don't know if you know how it works in Chassidish Circles. It's crazy but they eat at parents' 5 times a week. Being that her mother-in-law lives in upstate all weekday meals fall on me. She will buy/cook on Sundays and maybe another day of week. I know the system is crazy but this is standard...

I get a break every second Shabbos when she goes to her in-laws.

Great idea. I just need to COME UP with easy 10 day menu. I guess I'll have to do a bit of searching through recipe section.

No I’m definitely not familiar with this. But why can’t you just cook more of te same menus you make now for your family?

You don't want to know how many corners I cut... My menus are really not so nutritious and filling. My future-son-in-law is a quite full - to put it mildly... I need full menus.

I think with prep and rally you can pay and you get a weekly meal plan with the recipes and ingredient list and it tells you what to prep and cook each day.
I have ADD and this is exactly what I need but unfortunately my family likes much more basic foods.

Make a weekly or bi weekly menu
Cook for yourself the same as for them.

If you can’t keep up with washing pots, buy more pots to always have smth available.

What have you eaten till now? Why do you think they need new recipes if half of the couple is your child?

I'll leave that up to his mother, I'll be the gracious mother-in-law. I'm not planning to give junky food. I'm looking for good healthy satiable food!

If I were to serve pizza, Mac and cheese or cheesecake I wouldn't ask for ideas... LOL

This sounds like a Shabbat meal to me! We have much more simple dinners without dessert

Soup ideas that aren’t too hard:
Potato leek soup
Red lentil
Brown lentil
Split pea
Mushroom barley
Zucchini leek
Vegetable

I mostly eat vegetarian during the week but here are some meat ideas:
Meatballs with rice and a green salad
Arayes with Israeli salad and roasted carrots
Schnitzel and mashed potatoes and green salad
Roasted chicken legs with potatoes underneath and green beans on the side
Meat tacos with taco shells or tortillas, cabbage slaw and guacamole
Baked potatoes with meat chili, roasted zucchini or sautéed mushrooms
Orange chicken with roasted sweet potato halves

Maybe the dinner done cookbook will be good for you

Lentil soup. There is a good recipe in bais yaakov cookbook - 1 lb lentil, 1/4 c. Olive oil, 3 onions diced, 2 leeks , sliced white and green parts only ( to check for bugs you cut off dark green part and then separate each layer of the leek and wash each piece) then 3 cloves garlic minced, 1 tbsp. salt, 1and 1/2 tsp black pepper, 8 celery stalks diced, 4-6 carrots sliced, 1/4 cup tomato paste, 2 tbsp red wine or red wine vinegar, 12 cups chicken broth. Then there are the directions. Cover lentils with boiling water 15 minutes, heat oil and add onions etc.
