Point pleasant a boardwalk on the beach so lots of ppl will be in beach wear if that bothers you or not. It’s also busy with arcades and shops. If you want a board walk I’d pick a quieter one.
Manasquan reservoir is a circle path that is about 5 miles. Takes me like 1hr 15 min. Around a body of water. Mostly shaded. But not always.
there is also brick reservoir.
If you want shorter I really like cattus island. It’s in and out. About 1 mile each way. Ends at a small beach. Can see osprey nests along the way. Mostly shaded.

I think manasquan is nice if your looking for a quiet scenic place. There's people, but it's not crowded or busy like point pleasant. No swimming allowed

Does Cattus Island have a nice spot to take family photos near the water? Is there any beach sand?

I googled Cattus Island and see it closes at 4. Can you still walk around there after that, or does closed mean CLOSED? I'd love to go there later in the day.

I’m pretty sure that is the nature center. But the path stays open until dusk

Beach is sandy. Very pretty. Just need to walk 1 mile with equipment.
Sometimes there are jelly fish and then cannot put feet in water.

Cats Island was nice but some par
warnings. If you go until dusk. We bumped into a few deers along the way. Spray yourself up well for ticks. And note that dogs ARE allowed on the paths.

Anywhere you hike in nj spray.
We have brought home tics a numerous times and once we were covered on tics (imagine a nightmare scenario)
Dogs are allowed on all hiking paths everywhere…
