This. How old is he? My dd just turned 3 and only been trained for the past 2-3 weeks. She just wasn’t ready before. I didn’t even do much training..just gave her underwear and had her go to the.m toilet. Teachers also helped in school. And the last 2 or so weeks she’s been saying when she has to go. But before that she wasn’t ready. That’s tough if the school is making the child be trained.
he’s 2 and 8 months. I have a deadline . He’s being super stubborn about the toilet

This is not going to sound like a good answer. I would never send to a school to force me to toilet train my child. My children all trained when they were over 3 years old and they made sure with their schools that they were okay with it. I would never pressure myself to have a kid trained by the school year
do tell how you got the school to be ok with it. I was told he must be trained and I am free to start the school year late once trained but I work and can’t be home with him until that happens

Btdt with almost each of my children.

The minute they started going to school and saw all the other kids going to toilet it clicked for them.
he has like 2-3 dirties a day with at least one probably during school hours so how does that work?

OP I am in the same position. Daughter is 3 and 3 months and nursery requires her to be trained. She's scared of making on toilet even though she will sometimes agree to sit on it, nothing happens. I feel like she has an aversion. Al the toys and nosh in the world do not help, she's simply afraid/has an aversion.

Dunno what to do.
same story here. He sits on it sometimes and sometimes even goes on it but rest of the time he’s like I don’t like it etc. my son is 2.8. Do you live near me per chance? If so I’d say let’s do this together haha

OP, can you speak to the teacher directly?

The boys school has a strict "3 year olds must be toilet trained". I had a son who was 3 and not yet ready. I pushed him. He was NOT ready. He regressed and I ended up dealing with major constipation and other issues. And it turned out the teacher was totally fine if he wasn't completely toilet trained. Sometimes, kids are NOT ready and you lose more than you gain.

My next son, I didn't push. I started toilet training. He wasn't completely ready by the start of the school year but the teacher worked with him and it went well.

What kind of potty r u using? Make sure it’s comfy for him with good feet support. Did you try the ladder one that goes over the toilet?
Did you bribe him with special underwear? I know ppl say to do the naked method , but for my daughter getting her underwear I think is part of what helped. It was motivating. She wanted to wear the underwear and she knew she was wearing underwear vs a diaper.

The rebbe called me and I picked them up.

For me it was easier this way.

It never happened more than once or twice.
Being in an environment where everyone goes to the toilet made it click for them.

I didn't plan it! I had to go away for a few days and hired a friend's daughter who knew my son well to move in to my house to take care of him and my other child. She knew I was struggling to train him, so surprised me, and trained him. He was very cooperative with her, unlike when I tried to train him.

In a VERY interesting twist, the girl became my sister-in-law 2 years later, and it's become a family lore!

Said son is now married with a kid of his own, who he's struggling to train. A couple of weeks ago, we had a great laugh when his wife called this 'babysitter', now her aunt, saying 'Please train my baby!!!' She trained her husband successfully after all!

Have the child stay in the older 2’s class and move them once they are done toilet training, that’s less traumatic than making then when they aren’t ready
(I happen to strongly disagree with the school’s requirements of toilet training for 3’s but that’s another story)

OP, this is the best suggestion here. If your son isn’t ready right now, whatever you try will backfire and make things way harder for you in the long run. Been there done that. It’s not worth it.

Yes truth is stranger then fiction sometimes!

At said sister-in-law's Shabbos Sheva brochos her sisters said that they wanted tomake a toilet training theme, but they managed to suffice with mentioning it the grammen!

BH I've been zoche to repay said 'babysitter' come sister-in-law many times over. I went with her for the births of her first few kids, looked after her pp and arranged and her brissim (unfortunately she lost her dear mother soon after she got married).

In fact she calls dh and myself her surrogate in-laws!!

I don't know all programs but in the one my kids are in, the 2s are maxed out with no space... They almost moved my 2 yo down from the oldest 2s since he was the youngest, but he's toilet trained and really way too advanced to be moved down so they placed someone a few days older than him in the lower class. There's no room for a 3 yo to just go down temporarily due to licensing requirements.
And no one else in his group is trained so no one can swap places (and he's way too young to be in 3s).

It's a nice suggestion but not always logistically feasible.
