My baby is currently 1.5 and small. He is in a convertible car seat in our main van and we use his old infant carrier when my husband takes him in his car (approx 2 trips a week).

Here's the issue: our infant carrier is expiring and we need to replace it. We use the back seats in the car frequently for my older kids. A convertible car seat is a pain to install and remove a couple of times a week. My baby will probably outgrow (height) the infant carrier within the next couple months. What car seat should we buy for my husbands car? What's the most practical when the back seats need to be used regularly without baby?

I like the Maxi cozi Romi, it's lightweight and installs easily with a seatbelt.

Any convertible car seat should install easily with a seatbelt.

Not really, some are very unwieldy. They should all be pretty easy to latch, though.

Cosco Scenera is light and cheap.

We don't find it that difficult to thread the seatbelt through the loops of a convertible carseat, just do it before putting the kid inside. Takes less than half a minute.

You can get something like this to help with installing if you're finding it annoying.

I find it's easy to install my Graco with the latch system.

We have this in our van and actually found it pretty difficult to install. It needs a rolled up towel and was hard to get the angle perfect. I can't see ourselves installing several times a week.
