There are really good people in the world.
I was making a Bar Mitzvah and it was a week until the day and I had nothing done yet because we have no money. I was up nights getting sick to my stomach not knowing what to do.
My husband went to shul and sat down next to the ravs son who we dont know all that well and my husband just out of the blue told him we are making a bar mitzvah and we have no money.
He told my husband to book a hall and he will pay the whole thing.
It must of cost close to $6000 and he didnt even bat an eyelash and just took his checkbook out and paid in full.
Op I give you a bracha that you should be on the giving end very soon.

You should tell the owner of the shop what the sales lady did....always a good thing to complement a employee to her boss. It will foster positive feelings.

I wouldn’t tell the boss. I can see the boss getting angry that he will get a lot of people looking for handouts. Also she might like to keep it quiet which is a higher level of giving tzedakah

That’s an interesting point. Curious what others think about this?
She wasn’t using the boss/stores resources. She swiped her own card.

In theory she was, she probably used her employee discount to give it to you at the better price
I wouldn’t say anything mainly because it isn’t your “story” to share. You have no idea if she wishes to remain anonymous or not. Hopefully the boss sees how special she is in other ways!

If I would be that lady I'm not sure I'd want my boss to know about it. I agree it doesn't have to be so but it might cause more harm than good. I'd err on the side of caution.

You can let the boss know that she was extemely nice and helpful and how much you appreciated her help without adding that she discounted and paid for it.
