They’re on Friday schedule, so that means my 6’th grader was off.
Younger elementary daughter- was home by 11 (I think they finished like 10:30)
Preschool daughter would be home by 11:30, but she didn’t end up going.

Son had the longest day because his age ends at 12:30.
(Every age ends a different time to stagger bus routes)

No, this is for tomorrow. Your not supposed to work after chatzos if it can be avoided (can’t work before chatzos, preferable to not work afterwards)

There is zero issue working today even right up until the fast starts

Friday dismissal for older kids who had some pre Tisha bav program. Backyard day camp had regular 3 pm. I felt bad for the counselors. I would have been fine with a shorter day.

My husband said you are not supposed to work after chatzos on erev tisha bav. He came home early from work.

If you need to work you’re allowed to work. But men aren’t supposed to learn and you aren’t supposed to work if you can help it. If you’re part of a kollel community you see it more clearly since all the men are home from yeshiva

Not learning on Erev Tisha B'Av applies to everyone, not just men...

The real question is, where are you located? I feel like this is a new thing in Lakewood the last few years, ending half-day, or Friday schedule. It’s ridiculous, as mothers are going into Tisha B’av completely run down already. Is Brooklyn and other areas still a normal full day?

Brooklyn was never a full day on erev tisha bav. I'm 31, I grew up in flatbush and we always had half day on erev tisha bav
