The playgroup I get, but I don’t know why boys camps need off early. The counselors and rebbeim are not cooking. And if anything max an hour early is enough.

Why is everyone end so early?
The fast starts at 7:57. It’s not like it starts at 5 o’clock.

My daughter in a regular camp finished at 2:00. My son is doing a round robin camp with friends, he finishes 4:30/4:45

If you need to work you’re allowed to work. But men aren’t supposed to learn and you aren’t supposed to work if you can help it. If you’re part of a kollel community you see it more clearly since all the men are home from yeshiva

working and learning arent the same. they’re not allowed to learn because because learning brings joy. I’ve been searching and I can’t find anything or anywhere that says you can’t work this afternoon

This. Even learning can be allowed after chatzos today if it's the only learning the man will do that day. It's not assur like on Tisha B'av, only a minhag.
I've actually asked a shailah this year to get clarity about working and was told there's no issue today but that tomorrow it's better not to work until after chatzos. As always, AYLOR

I actually teach shiur in a camp that had a full day, and I couldn’t teach our regular curriculum this afternoon- I had to make it Tisha bav related.
