My daughter had a good experience with this being her first experience of sleep away camp. I am disappointed that the camp sent her on the bus taking her to the airport from where she would fly home without any food? Am I wrong to have expected them to give her some sandwiches and/or snacks?

No you are not wrong, where was she supposed to get airplane food from.
When I was in camp years ago, whoever was going to the airport or on a long bus ride was sent with sandwiches and snack.

Speaking as a camp director, we always have campers pack food on the last morning of camp and encourage them to pack more if they are flying or have a long drive.
