I've struggled to break this habit all my life and the only thing that really works to this day is having a powder manicure.

My two daughters, 10 and 12, badly want to break their habit. Is it damaging (emotionally, psychologically, etc) to buy this product for them to use?

Second, separate question: has anyone used it and found it effective, for themselves or their children?

I used for dd for a few days when she was around 8 and it worked. She was on board with it. We had to use it again for a day or 2 a couple of times a few months later and every so often I had to remind her not to put her thumb in her mouth but I think she would still be sucking her thumb as a teenager if we hadn’t used the nail polish.
It was definitely hard emotionally while we did it but I wouldn’t say it was damaging and at this point dd is very happy we did it. Not a habit she would want to break even older.
