Curious for next summer. Will have a rising 7th grader. We are OOT. JPF/Yeshivish-ish. Hubby wears a black hat, daughter does not wear knee socks in the summer- but she would have no problem wearing them at a sleepaway camp that requires it. Certainly not MO- but not super Yeshivish either. My daughter will read secular novels, but she does not watch secular movies/TV. Looking for a non jappy camp that is friendly to out of towners with solid girls. Suggestions?

Though it’s a great camp, I do think OP would need more to the right than Dina.

if your daughter enjoys "the arts" then my daughter really likes tizmoret shoshana but I would suggest you look in to carefully before chosing it. My daughter went to maayan and tizmoret and liked tizmoret a lot better and chose to go back.

Sounds like a perfect fit for sternberg.
Not jappy at all, super sweet girls. Normal, good old fashioned fun without the emphasis on materialism (your daughter will not need to bring along a camp chair, personalized shower caddy, and brabd name sneakers. She would stick out if she did)

I don't think sternberg has the yeshivish crowd that it had 20-30 years ago. my niece goes there and she would wear short sleeves, short socks, I think. I could be wrong....
what about camp bais yaakov?

Where oot are you? If say you’re in Illinois or Ohio you may or may not want to send to an east coast camp. If your on the east coast like baltimore its a different conversation.

The suggestions so far may all be fine but very different..I suggest asking people in real life who know you which would be a good fit..where her friends are going or wre older friends neighbors go .

Sternberg all the way!!! Not jappy at all, and all types of girls go there from yeshivish to modern and everything in between. Best camp ever
