Dankbar wow that's quite a list. Thank you! I actually took her to the library this morning. Hopefully that will help a bit. Many of those things she would be happy to do with a friend. I don't know if I can motivate her to do it alone. Even a craft or learning a new skill, she'd want to do with someone. Is something wrong with her?
She takes music lessons but can't play now until after 9 Av.
I'm trying to brainstorm how we can borrow a relative for a week or two.

Only if there’s no way she can spend time with her teen otherwise.

I would prioritize getting her into a productive activity fast where she can be with peers for the next few weeks. Ask around the local day camps or other activities. Sitting home alone all summer is really unhealthy at that age.

Would you consider a place like Sternberg for next summer? A mix of kids (JPF, RWMO- but definitely a lot OOT BY types there). You wouldn't have trouble getting in as long as you apply on time. Mayan Midwest?

My dd15 is on my phone all the time. That's how she keeps busy. I was about to ask if this is healthy. Then I saw this thread. So helpful. My dd15 doesn't like to play games or do any form of craft if it's with me. I thought this wasn't normal but it seems like the way to do it is with friends. But I don't think she likes it when I tell her to invite a friend to do the project with. Do you think I should start a crafts program so my dd15 can do crafts she likes and it will be with friends since I'm making the class. I really don't want her to spend so much time on the phone

I really thought teens were easier. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this. I'm glad it's normal. Whoever has a teen and it's easier I'm happy for you. I'm going to try some of the ideas like soap making. If I tell her about it before I buy it she won't be interested but if I buy it and invest the money for it she might see it and enjoy it. Sorry just talking out my thoughts
