My daughter wore these in pre1a, 1st, and 2nd and wants them again for 3rd.

Those would look very Normal where I live

Is it ok to have a navy uniform and socks and wear black shoes?

These are cuter but white soles so bad for fall and winter style
https://www.imamother.com/foru.....510e8

Also, does nubuck need to be treated?

I need the same thing but for girl going into 5th. She is concerned about style but I don’t want to pay Jewish prices. Also live out of town so I can’t go to local store. Any links so appreciated. I wish my maximum is $40, is that even feasible? (No chunky heel, she didn’t like it)

Is she a womens size?
I think It’s easier to find typical womens size loafers

Black shoes are fine in my opinion. I'm not super into fashion but my kids blend in. I didn't treat the nubuck at all. We've had black booties with maroon uniform and maroon booties one year too.

I'm so confused.

If you are out of town , why do you need to fit in with Lakewood? You are moving here for the new school year?

Great question!!!!
The answer is that in many OOT cities, the non-OOTers have infiltrated the communities and upped the standards so that we can’t just buy Amazon Mary Janes.

I’m going to list random cities not necessarily with first hand knowledge-
Maybe phoenix, Houston, and Milwaukee are still OOT style while Chicago, Cleveland, Miami may have been more affected and people are more in style.

What do you say about these?

I think they’re great for November, but not September.::

Marc Joseph new styles is not cheap at all and look less nice than cheap Jewish brands. Unless you get a closeout (they sell fast you need to keep looking ) on Nordstrom rack or Marshall’s your not going to get better value than a $60 Cheeta shoe.

I looked to prove my point and this is all I found decent and it’s selling out fast.https://m.marshalls.com/us/m/jump/product/kids-baby-kids-baby-shoes-girls-shoes-little-big-girls-shoes/Leather-Hippy-Hoppy-Shoes-%28Toddler%2C-Little-Kid%2C-Big-Kid%29/4000282041?colorId=NS4154762&pos=1:129&N=2725845010 https://m.marshalls.com/us/m/j.....45010

you can't compare this link to the shoes they are selling in the lakewood stores.
I dont' think most people are wearing this now. maybe in a slip on version. not a mary jane style chunky

I would not put this on a 6 year old. It’s just not the right style.

I did, in a very in-town school. We survived and thrived lol. My girls are very cool Very Happy

I think this point is important- let your kids choose what they like. Don’t try to be a clone. Explore your own style within uniform conforms. I like styles that are unique and my kids have lots of friends. Don’t make the style of their shoe so important!

How did these last?
I bought my daughter cute school shoes on Amazon last year and needed to replace So often it would have been cheaper to get one longer lasting from jewish store.

Yea I think for a school shoe that you want to last all year it’s worth spending more than $40 so it can last all year. They will be wearing them all day so please get something leather and comfortable.

They lasted perfectly. Could have used them again the next year but she's growing

I think you live in the same city as me. The styles have infiltrated so much.

I don’t live on the east coast and can’t try on the shoes. So perroquet etc would have to be ordered online…
Which frum company would you use that can ship back and forth for free??
And while I’ll get my older dd more expensive shoes, I’m still of the mentality that 6 year olds don’t get expensive shoes… under $50

I see this show so far…
https://www.amazon.com/MARC-JO.....ss_tl
Closest to their size… not even cheap

Fintoes is doing free shipping and returns the season

Would you put her in something like these until Sukkos and then get booties or you specifically want something she could wear all year?
