Not done in my circles, but sounds lovely.
Why does the Chosson not get an album of his Kallah?
What is the point of a poem- here or in any situation, if it is not from the heart and written by the giver. Finding one someone else used sounds much less personal that just a letter even if it is not perfectly written and doesn’t rhyme.

*many chassidim have a minhag that a choson does not see or look at pictures of his kallah from the tnoyim until the wedding.
* just like people ask for help with poems for purim themes they need help with poems for other occasions. Some people are just not good at writing.
