I remember a wealthy friend called me and I wanted to pretend we were wealthy too. I answered the phone with a fake accent pretending to be a housekeeper and then “transferred” the call to myself.
What do you remember?

I remember the double sedarim in my grandfather's house. He led in dining room and a couple he knew led another seder in the living room-probably due to space constraints. It was so lively!

I remember making penny stores with my siblings. We used to set up things we wanted to sell to each other and list the prices (always a few pennies). Was so fun!

I answered the phone for my friend’s mother in what I thought was a sophisticated, adult voice. She complained to my mother that I was disrespectful and that it sounded like I was making fun of her. I felt so bad 🙈

I remember being by my aunt for the week after my mom had a baby. My father came to pick up soup and when he left I was very sad went into the room to cry. When my cousins saw they went to call their mom. When asked what happened I said " the door closed on my hand" .

I was stretched out on the floor, crying. My brother took out all the board games, covers from toy containers, etc., and put them all around me, covering me completely. It was so cozy!

Reminds me of my brother burying me under snow in the great blizzard of '96 (I think). In NY. I was completely buried besides my face but I was bundled up well I don't remember feeling cold. Cozy is the right word.

My friend and I were the youngest in our family so we always played having babies our moms no longer did so we were desperate to pretend .. (always appropriate, what did we know we were so sheltered lol) I would always be the receptionist in the doctors office and pick up and say: “Hello, pregMancy office how can I help you?”

I remember feeling bad for my dolls that they were cold at night. I took tucking them in very seriously.

I remember squeezing the grapes my mother packed as a snack to make grape juice in kindergarten and a girl who was jealous that I thought of it put fun tack in my juice so I couldn’t drink it

lol don’t take it personally. There’s often no rhyme or reason to it. Or it could be a newbie trying to ‘love’ the post. I know I did that when I first joined

Odd question IMHO, OP. Most people have many childhood memories, both good and bad, given that childhood lasts for a number of years. Did you mean what is your earliest memory?

I had all these things I thought I was supposed to do as a kid, like name my dolls or have imaginary friends. So I would actively try to do those things and fail because it totally wasn't my style of play lol

I was actually debating between earliest and favorite but it can be hard to answer those so I just left it open to interpretation. It’s interesting to see what memories stand out from childhood.

Lots of memories stand out. Childhood having been a long time ago, anything I remember is by definition outstanding.

Well since you asked. I remember as a kid it was very hard for me to go to school and never wanted to.. I was a victim of school bullies.. it hurt so much.. I remember my parents tried talking to me, my principal and teachers tried.. my parents decided to take me to a social worker to see if I’d open up there.. I told them only if a certain brother comes along.. they didn’t want to take him out of Yeshiva, but they had said they did.. he came along for the ride.. the whole way there my brother tried so hard for me to talk and open up..I was bawling away.. and the time he we got there I told him I’ll only try to talk is if he comes in the room.. and he did.. I remember us both coming out of the room in tears.. he felt my pain so strong snd until today I am super close to this brother..
