My teens are in camp and my two youngest (6yo girl and 9yo boy) are home and bored stiff! They go to day camp but are home around 4 and the day stretches out endlessly. They often complain that it's too hot to play outside or no friends are around. Then they end up pulling each other's hair out because they're bored. I would be happy to take them places that don't cost too much (I sent teens to camp...) and would keep them happy and busy.

Here are things I've thought of:

Point Pleasant aquarium
Arcades
Rita's/Ice cream
Boardwalk/beach

Any other ideas?

Dealing with the same thing but my kids are not in camp this month!

So far this is what we’ve done-

SwingTime USA down route 9

One day we went to the drive through at kava and ordered drinks

Iplay America

Nighttime trip to Walmart

Library- one day the Jewish library and one day the public library

Yismach yisrael for ice cream

Long walks in the park- we found trails

I think tomorrow it will cool off and we will walk by the Lakewood lake, go on the new bridge

Bowling

Chucke cheese

Dollar Tree

One day we will buy a new blender and they will make their own milkshakes

One day we will drive to NY and visit grandparents

After 9 B’Av we will go on a family trip for a few days

Hopefully we’ll beat the rush for school supplies

Definitely looking for more ideas

Jackson library - there’s a cool sensory room you can spend time there, castle park and the sprinkler park

Allaire estate park you can go on the train, walk around, and there’s a nearby farm as well

Shark River park - really fun water trail walk for kids around 5 plus. Bring coverups and enjoy the ride

How much does slime world cost? And what did your kids do there?
We have the Chuck E. Cheese summer pass - awesome deal for anyone that wants easy entertainment and relatively cheap. We keep seeing and wondering about slime world

I think slime world was 17 for basic slime on weekdays and 5 dollars to add in texture.
Came out about 25 per child..not so cheap but figured Im doing it once a summer..so ok to spend.
