Coming from OOT to be in Monsey for a few days. I have a family of 9 kah and can't do anything insanely expensive...
I do want a very fun trip to do one day to make this trip more a TRIP. But on the other hand do not want to break the bank.
I was thinking of American Dream Mall, but after looking at what is there and the prices, I am not sure it fits the bill with my family. I can't see us spending less than $300 there for sure, but probably closer to $500. Unless I'm totally off on that? But, besides the price, we wouldn't do many of the activities- we don't like heights or rides. We do a lot of mini golf by us, so not exciting. The only things may be ok are the maze and tilt.

Legoland is too young for my family, I think. My oldest is 15. Would it work? We don't love crazy rides usually.

Any other ideas?

Also, maybe a day outdoors, low key?

Thanks!

I did hear of this before but never been there. Does it really have separate areas for girls and boys? How do you watch your kids if you have both? And it says only for public in the afternoon- do you know how late?

The few times I’ve been there, it was not separated for girls and boys. they have very fun climbing stuff, big swings, Zip lines…. And very well maintained and clean.

Definitely skip American dream unless you go for something specific.

Legolabd is too young.

There’s a bike rental near rockland lake which is nice but/and low key.

U can take the ferry from haverstaw

Rent a boat on greenwood lake. It's 40 minutes from Monsey

Lots of hikes near here that are beautiful

Palisades mall has some activities

Vegetable picking farms are fun but like and hour from here

Space farm is really fun. It's a zoo but has garages of old cars and toys. My kids love it

If your doing ruach hachaim park in Monroe and you want another activity, there’s a cute boating place 5 minutes from Monroe. They also have a little petting zoo, jumping balloons and atv for a little more money. Lmk if you need the phone number

Governers island is a great place! You go with a ferry and there are bike rentals there as well.

Thanks for all the ideas!

All the outdoorsy ideas sound good. I'll check them out.

But, any BIG idea that my kids can come home and say we did THAT? I don't like the bragging aspect, but my entire family did practically nothing the whole summer - camp mommy - so I wanted to surprise them with something a little bigger.

If you don't mind please, can I have the number? Does it have a name?

Right, true.
I don't want to go very far, because we are already driving a long way from home.
Price- for our family I don't want to spend more than $300 for the day, but preferably less
Is this possible?

Checkout the Palisades Mall. Things cost money but cheaper than American Dream Mall.
