He always wants to play stratego and chess but I don’t like to play.
I like othello, occasionally rummikub and banana grams.
Looking for fun games that don’t require too much thinking

Mastermind is good for a few minutes but gets tired
If you're ok with something longer and more involved then consider Catan, Ticket to Ride - you do need to keep your head on but not the same as chess. Ticket to Ride is easier.
How are you both with visual-spatial? Set is great, I like q-bitz, and there's another great pattern-finding game whose name is escaping me but I could look for it later.

Pandemic is fun- and it is cooperative so you either both win or lose. You may need 3 players, not sure.
Spy alley and Simply Suspect- same general idea and a lot of fun. Spy alley is better with 3 but they have a way to play with 2.
