Is anyone like me?
I hate to be around the house when my cleaning lady cleans. It makes me so nervous. She's under my feet everywhere. I live I a small appt and I get so annoyed.
I usually try to leave the house she's around.
Just woundering if anyone shares the same.

Yes, and then ultimately decided to not have cleaning help because of that.

I also choose not to have help for this reason.
Do you have the option of leaving the house when she’s there? Maybe prioritise errands just to not be home…

I have a large house and still can't handle being around them. I end up hiding out in my room and it's so annoying. Can't live without them though...

I used to feel this way - mostly because I felt guilty about having someone work while I was idle.
I got over it because leaving my house was inconvenient and not having a cleaning lady once a week was even worse.
What works for me is we have a routine so I sit at my desk and she cleans everywhere except my office area. The last thing she does is my desk/office area and so I just move into my bedroom and relax on the chair there and read or catch up on texts or email.
It helps that I have a Miele vacuum cleaner that is incredibly quiet - so quiet I don't even her her vacuuming just a very low whoosh. It also helps that she is a quiet person herself and so I can literally forget she is around.

Yes I’d rather not have cleaning help because of this. I had someone for a while and ultimately decided to let her go and I’m very happy with my decision. I hated having someone in my space.

I hated paying too much money for someone that I had to clean up before she came anyway, and then I was never really satisfied by her job.
I needed someone Friday one hour before Shabbos to sweep and mop. If I can't get that slot anyway, it's not worth it.
By the time I was finished with her, I might as well have done it myself.
When my last one quit, I never bothered getting a new one.

A few months ago, I finally gave in and had a dayworker once a week for 5 hours. I also decided to "hide from her" in my room. She took 3 hours to''clean" my kitchen. Apparently cleaning to her was emptying out 1 half bottle of cheap dish soap into another half bottle of a more premiium brand. I fired her and now don't want a housekeeper , ever again.

I have her come when I’m at work. I love coming to a clean house that someone else cleaned!
