My teen is in Israel, forgot it was the 9 days, and bought chicken fingers.
They have no refrigerator/freezer to save it.

I can’t reach my Rav and they don’t have anyone to ask.

My instinct was to tell them to toss, but then I realized bal tacit is a real Halacha.

What is higher on the hierarchy.
Baal taschit or the minhag of no meat during the 9 days?

Asking seriously

Toss it. She can’t eat it now that’s what you do, you toss.

Baal tashchis is really low down. It’s also for frivolous throwing out. Not being able to eat the food doesn’t fall under it. It’s also so risky to hold on to food even for 2 hours when she has no refrigeration in this heat. She’s not a garbage can.

Many Sefardim eat meat (and swim) during the 9 days EXCEPT for the week of Tisha B'av. (next wk Sun and Monday). Maybe she has a sefardi friend......

Actually we’re Syrian and we don’t eat meat or drink wine the whole 9 days. We do swim and do laundry until shavua shechal bo.

Are you serious? First off, sfardim only hold the week of 9 av, so they can still eat basari. And here in Israel, there are many that are not dati and dont even know of the halachot for the 9 days, so many are selling basari.

Give them to someone who only holds shavua shechal bo. Or ask someone to lend her a bit of freezer space so she can enjoy them on shabbos.

Most sefardim do not hold that you can drink wine and eat meat during the 9 days. It's just laundry and other restrictions we don't take on til shavua shechal bo.

No stores put locks on their freezers policing everyone so they don't buy meaty.
Go to your local grocery store, you can get hold of every type of meaty item you can during the year.
Probably only can't buy ready made food.

Fast food is barely good fresh, let alone frozen for over a week. Ewww. Toss.

Better to give to a Jew who can eat it, eg sefardi before next week, child, etc.

Giving gifts to non-Jew is also problematic in halacha - "lo techoneim".
