Peanut Butter Cups-Due to Demand for Recipe

Due to popular demand, here is the recipe for peanut butter cups that taste almost like the real thing..


1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 box confectionary sugar
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 stick margarine
8 oz baking chocolate

Cream all ingredients besides chocolate in mixer.
Form small balls, and press down into miniature cupcake holders.
Melt baking chocolate on double boiler and spoon one teaspoon carefully into each cup.

After the chocolate hardens you can decorate them with drizzled white chocolate on top, for a professional touch. These are the first to go at a Simcha!

(They freeze very well. When freezing spread them on a cookie sheet and freeze, then layer in airtight container when completely frozen.)

Raisin, you can use milk chocolate. I use parve, because I am usually making it for a Simcha (and snitching some on the side).

I'm assuming one stick of marg is 4 ounces, or about 100 grams - but how much confectionary sugar is a box?

1 stick = 1/2 cup - I would try crisco not margarine (allergies Puke)
and one box = 1 lb = apprx 3 cups confectionery sugar

now now everybody calm down ... & for the love of god - please let sunshine! know how it turns out ... Wink

I think it would be even yummier with butter and real milk chocolate.

I made a similar recipe from the spice and spirit (in balls, not cases) and they were a huge hit. I think I'll make them again io fi can get more peanut butter. I don't love them myself, which is a plus!

I just did some research to double check before I try the recipe and I found that one lb of confectioners sugar is around 3 and 3/4 cups - 4 cups. ill let you all know how tthey come out

we made these for shabbos- actually I let my kids - oldest 8- make them- I melted the chocolate- THey had such a great time- they were so easy to make andt hey came out delicous. They are already asking to make again. I used earth's balance instead of margerine- andi think we put in less sugar than called for- but still really good.

Is there even cholov yisroel baking chocolate out there? Or can you use a milchig bar of chocolate like schmerling?
