Without medication.

I can't put him on meds because of family history of mania with ssri.
But the child is super anxious.

He is too anxious to listen to or use the techniques he learns in therapy.

I feel he needs to have something to calm him down so he is able to lead a more functional life.

Anyone have real results with using something natural?

There are other types of medication. Take him to a psychiatrist

Thanks for this advice but that wasn't my question.

Do I have to put out my diary in order to get an answer to the question that I asked?
Wink

The question is:

Did you treat a child with anxiety successfully with a natural supplement?

If you did can you please share what that was?
Thank you.

Wait. You gave your child this whole concoction?
I only want for anxiety.
How much of each?
Thanks

If you are concerned about mania in response to ssri you should also be concerned about side effects for natural remedies. There are holistic psychiatrist dont give your son a concoction of remedies based on random anonymous women on the internet

It's not "a whole concotion", it's a protocol that targets the root causes of anxiety.

You can't expect natural supplements to work like a drug.

How much of each? Is there someone that can tell me how much of each of these things?

I really appreciate

Natural stuff can cause mania. Someone with such a risk shouldn’t be treated over the counter without his doctor’s input and guidance. I’ve been there done that and it was bad.

Thanks to everyone concerned for me.

If you want to warn me, thanks. Note taken.

If you want to warn others please open another thread.

The question in this thread is:

Have you treated anxiety successfully with something natural and if you did what was it?

Thank you.

Go to a vitamin store and discuss it with him. The b family is good, omega 3, d, and magnesium

In general I just follow dosing on the bottle and adjust for the child's weight. Dosing is usually intended for a 160lb adult so I put it in a ratio. With magnesium you can go much higher. Methylated b vitamins go low and slow because it can increase agitation in some kids. Cbd, gaba, l theanine and 5htp should be taken in the evening because they make you sleepy. NAC can be taken at fairly high doses as well but it causes stomach upset in some kids so be on the lookout.

Treating infections and pathogens is usually a big piece.

Dr. Price told me about nac a while ago.
Not sure how I forgot about it.
Thanks for the breakdown of doses. I appreciate it.

Feed him some steak. A piece the size of the palm of your hand. Fry it in strips. Dust it very lightly with garlic powder and black pepper, just on one side of it.

At least once a week.

Go easy on carbs. Try to have him not consume any caffeine, and it is in sodas and powdered tea mixes.

Get room-darkening curtains for his room so he can get deep sleep.

Ideally he should not look at lighted screens an hour before bed, as they stimulate the brain.

Perhaps s-xual feelings are developing at that age and that may be scaring him. Have him spend more one-on-one time with his father. That will reassure him. He will see that his father can walk around and live with manhood and control himself.

Is he is being hassled or bullied in school? See what his teachers say.

He might need his own room or his own separate space to sleep and read.

Did you also want to hear when natural didn’t help?
If not, ignore.

NAC and magnesium and methylated B vitamins - all recommended by my doctors - didn’t help my anxiety.

But they obviously do work for people.

I hope you have success.

Bashi Levine has a great course for parents of anxious children. I did it for a different child but my teen said it helped them (possibly because they didn’t feel it was for them).
Proper nutrition, sleep and exercise is important.
Check to make sure child isn’t being bullied.
