I am redoing my kitchen, and I am using a designer for space planning/kitchen design.

for those that have done this, I just want to know what the order is for the next steps.

I understand first is hiring a contractor

then, ordering the flooring, cabinets, counters - which order is that done? (I am doing that on my own, without a designer)

The contractor can help you with how and what order to order the things.

Flooring gets installed first, then cabinets then countertops.

The order to order depends what kind of kitchen you’re going with, are you taking a stock kitchen which is usually in stock and available quickly or are you doing a custom kitchen which can take several months to order?

Definitely ask the contractor. Do you have one already? Where are you located? I can PM a few numbers.

I did not use a designer. my contractor did a lot of the design and he took care of a lot of ordering. He had the contacts and stores that he works with and trusts.
Find a contractor before you do anything else

thank you, very helpful response, we're almost decided on a contractor, we'll ask him then, thanks!
