It was freshly mopped and it still stinks. I have the steam mop so I don't add Murphy oil, Mr clean or anything that smells good. What will freshen up the room?

For real smells I burn a candle blow it out in the room

Keeping up with spills and sticky stuff.
Clean messy counters and floors

Change the mop water frequently or swiffer pads at least twice in a room

Get rid of garage every day sometimes twice
Keep the windows open around the house

Is it coming from the sinks? Spoiled food? The garbage can? First identity the source.

Baking soda and hot water in sink or if you have sink disposal use the tablets. Works for me. Hard with seasons to air out and keep windows open for a while but that helps a lot too. Hatzlacha

I use a steam mop and sometimes pour a little Mr clean on really dirty spots.
Or vinegar.
The vinegar smell goes away after a few minutes and the floor is nice and clean

Yeah you can pour a bit of Mr clean around so that when you use the steam mop, it pushes it around

Can you first identify the source of the smell? Then we can help you problem-solve. (Garbage? Compost? Sinks? Drains? Fridge?)

Can the machine handle 5 drops essential oils in the water for the steam mop?

Off topic,
But I’m looking for a recommendation of a good steam mop- what type do you have? Do you like it?

I use a natural floor cleaner solution just a few drops and when it’s done I use antibacterial spray throughout the house which has a scent to it as well
The antibacterial spray is what helps the most
Bleach in sinks and bathrooms

Cook up in a pot about 1/4 cup lemon juice, bit of water and plenty cinnamon, mix well and let it come to a rolling boil. Lower flame a bit and let simmer steadily. Watch the pot as it can start to evaporate and you might need to top up with more lemon juice (if the bad odour hasn't yet cleared)
Your kitchen will then smell lovely and fresh
