As quoted in the previous post re: pet peeves for morahs
Oh gosh with every post I'm reminded of more pet peeves...I once had a parent drop off his kid in our class and say "oh by the way he's wearing underwear, he trained himself over the weekend" like WHAAATTT???? that obviously didn't go very well and we just put him in diapers for school. Another mom brought her daughter in after training extensively at home, got her regular at home first. But in school, unfortunately, this girl was constantly having accidents. We spoke to the mom but she just wanted us to keep going. This girl needed to be changed like 4 times a day Sad poor kid.
As a parent, it is so frustrating for the morah to tell me to keep my child in diapers or pull ups at playgroup since it'll confuse the kid even more. Yes, it is bothersome for the morah to have to be more hands on with my child and even have to change him. But I want him to be trained out of the house too!!! Not wear pull ups during the day.
Agree or disagree?

I think it's fine for a few days. But put the kid in easy to change clothes. A dress with just unders under it...
After a few days, if no progress is made I don't think it's fair for morah to change the kid several times a day. There's other kids there too...

I hated toilet training because the Morah’s were impossible. No kid is magically trained instantly. We need to work as a team. And they all said only send in perfectly trained kids. So what I should keep them home for months? They will have accidents in a busy place full of other kids. It’s just how it is. I think if you do this age you must be willing to have a toilet training plan and work with the parents. It’s insane.

Right agreed. Accidents are normal in the beginning. In my toddlers school the teachers really work on training and take the kids often to the bathroom. The teacher even told me she’d let me know when to send underwear. I ended up sending this week bc over last weekend went okay. She’s had a few accidents but the teacher is really pleased of how it went this week. I really don’t have time to do the whole stay home for days naked thing since I work full time and the teachers r happy to help out when she’s in school since that’s where she is majority of the day.
Also in daycare a lot of the kids in my toddlers class r trained so it’s also motivation for her to want to use the potty too and wear underwear. She actually refused to wear a diaper to school and only wanted to wear underwear this week so that’s also why I figured let’s just try and see how it goes. The teachers were rly receptive about it and were willing to give it a try.

All my playgroup Morahs have been very reasonable about potty training, they know this is part of the job at this age. They usually said something like only send them back once you're comfortable taking them on a trip for a couple hours. If you're comfortable with that, they're probably ready to go to playgroup again. I send a lot of clothing changes, all easy tshirts and leggings, plus pull ups for nap time and tell him if they need to they can keep it on after the nap too. Never had major issues with the Morahs BH

There is a difference between an occasional accident and 4 accidents a day. A good morah will take the trained kids to the bathroom regularly. And won't be upset about an occasional accident.

I’m talking 1 or 2 at the beginning. They freaked out from one and said back into diapers. It was so unrealistic.

My child is fully trained at home but still won't go with a group of kids. It's so hard to break that habit especially when the morah tells me she just sits and won't go. So she has to wear a pull up otherwise every day she'll have an accident

My kids are toilet trained at home for a full month before they're willing to use any other bathroom. So for a month they wear underwear at home and pullups at school. And it works. Sometimes Morah doesn't put on a dry pull-up after nap and they spend the last hour in underwear and just hold it. When they've used the bathroom at school successfully we "forget" the pull up one morning and succeed.

My kid just held it in by morah for the most part. I was afraid she'd give herself a UTI. Morah kept trying. Took me some time but then I realized I need to make a special treat for morah's toilet and it has to be better then her home treat (5 tiny lentils) BH.
This was my first experience like this.
I have a kid who would only go in unders. Morah (a different one than the previous story) and after way too many accidents got creative... we agreed to put her back in diapers. Sure enough she trained because she WOULDNT go in a diaper. I have so much hakaras hatov to that Morah.

Are you blaming the morah for your kids issues?
She can't force her to make in the toilet if she won't!
