I tend not to let much upset me.. you need a good sense of humor when teaching preschool!
That said, here are some things I find a bit frustrating:
*when a parent usually doesn’t look at anything sent home
*child being sent with teeny knapsack or lacking basic required items regularly
*when a parent doesn’t communicate with teachers when necessary, for example to let them know about things going on that majorly impact the child (eg. mother going away for a week or beginning a new job and child being cared for by different caregiver)
(I assume the parents are overwhelmed with something going on in their life, but I feel for their child...
As a Morah, I do the best I can for each child, but when the parents work together with me it makes such a difference!

Yes! I had a kid who would randomly have meltdowns for no apparent reason. And every time I emailed mom "oh, I'm away, let me check in with my parents who she's staying with". I quickly learned meltdowns= she needs tlc because mom's away

Outfit that consists of an undershirt, top with snaps at the crotch, and overalls over all that. Kid looked cute. It wasn't fun when she had very bad diarrhea.
Jeans. They're so stiff. Kid is miserable all day.
There was a kid who had a wrap around top and had the leggings with the arm straps under her top. Looks cute, but not practical at all.
Perfume.

When parents are not communicative.
When parents clearly neglect their child.
When parents are rude to me.
When parents don’t listen to my input (ie you gently inform them that the child can benefit from some extra help and offer to guide them through doing a boe eval).
As you can tell , nothing about the children. It’s always about the adults.
The children are the best part of the job. The adults make me want to quit sometimes.

I actually have a few, I'm a morah for a very long time, I can write a book!!
My pet peeve is when kids come in sick!
Oh he's on antibiotics but doing "much better"!(or "he had fever last night but he's all better, no fever this morning!")
"Your child had 3 loose diapers today!" "Oh he also had 3 this morning before coming!"
When sippy cups are not cleaned and refilled on a daily basis. Some of them are full of mildew. Would mother drink in such a cup???
No diapers in the bag!
When parents don't apologize when they pick up late! Don't make believe, you're on time!!!
Or when it happens on a few times a week!!

The teacher generally specifies on the supplies list what size backpack the kids should bring.

Maybe parents don't realize that they need to let the teachers know of any changes going on at home.
My kids teachers send home a paper with their policies.... and they write that parents should let the teachers know of any changes at home or with the child.

And apparently some parents think that a mini bag can fit a 8.5x11 size paper

Lol do we work together?? Biggest pet peeve is when they bring a child in sick. I had a few years ago (and I was only the assistant then) a father brought his daughter, who looked pale and teary eyed, runny nose- the works! He told me "yeah she woke up screaming a few times in the middle of the night, I just took her to the doctor, she has a double ear infection but I'm going to go get her prescription now" my jaw hit the floor I think🤦🏻🤦🏻 I was like, I'm really sorry but just look at her (she had sat down at the activity table and just started BAWLING). he's like, that's strange she was fine on the car ride here. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 Of course, once the lead teacher came in a minute later she was like uh uh no way, I'm so sorry but your child needs to be resting and recovering at home!
Second pet peeve, when we ask for a pack of new diapers (which we always do when we see the child is running on the lower side), and the parents come in and are like "oh yeah the diapers are in the car I'll bring them by pickup". Pickup comes and goes, still no diapers...a few days later "oh really I never brought them? They're in the car.." we're like, we know, they're in the car, can you please go get them now?? We literally have no more diapers left!!
This is a strange pet peeve, but it bothers me: when parents can't spell simple words. We had a parent write a mitzvah note about "shmuli hugs his sybolings to make them feel better"🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
There are so many more little pet peeves, but honestly, my biggest BIGGEST one is when parents don't show any appreciation. I don't need money, I don't need fancy gifts, I don't need anything! But can you tell me that you see how much your child loves coming to school, and he/she is learning so much, singing the songs we teach, etc.. You don't even have to write a note, although that's always appreciated if you can! Just show us there's some appreciation for the fact that we are completely devoted to your children for the first few hrs of the day, k?? Thanks!!

Oh my, I can believe it. My son's Pre1A Morah called me up after the chaggim last year and very nervously and hesitantly suggested that I might want to get him evaluated for OT because he was having difficulty with writing and fine motor skills. I had noticed it too but thought it was just because he was 5 and not experienced yet. I got on board immediately because I'm all for getting my children help if they need it and she sounded so relieved that I wasn't arguing or yelling at her. B"H he was approved for OT and it's been very helpful. I am grateful to the Morah for suggesting it and for advocating for him with the school district.
Communication goes two ways though. I always appreciate Morahs who give plenty of advance notice for Shabbos Ima/Abba or anytime parents have to purchase items and send them in because we can't always run out after school and pick up the exact fruit our child was assigned to make fruit salad the next day.

I stopped doing Shabbos Ima/ Mommy for this reason.
It was more of a bother than cute.
Am I depriving my poor kids??

In nursery?
I never did that before...
Could be a good idea. Will save me so much aggravation.
I mean honestly- most crafts do end up being bigger than a raisin!

Maybe it was my toddlernager. She steals my perfume.
(And makeup. And wears my jewelry.)

I think if parents would know how much a small comment can mean to a teacher they would do it more often.
How long does it take to write 'The parsha project was so cute' on the bottom of the mitzva note??

There is special baby perfume or kids you can get.
My nephee smelt yummy this week, not too strong or overpowering.
My sil told me she bought from Zara.
Id only use for shabbos or simchas though.
