For an in town date, girl typically wears heels and shabbos dress.

Usually heels. I am of the (controversial) opinion that a girl should just wear what she feels good in. If she likes her dresser weekday better than her simple shabbos, go for it. Most boys don’t know the difference.

An in-town boy will know the difference. Boy asked my daughter (different from story below) why she didn't wear heels.

Funny story - one DD BH married the second boy she dated (huge bracha, I can't get over it). First boy she dated, she came home and told me it was super awkward, she didn't know what to say (she isn't shy or socially awkward, they just didn't hit it off), and to make matters worse, she was wearing heels and wasn't comfortable suggesting they just walk around which would have been less awkward.

So when she went out with her now-husband, she was stressing - should she wear heels? If it's awkward, she'll be stuck like with the previous boy. I told her to do whatever is comfortable for her. She said she's gonna wear flats....but then last minute, decided no, heels it is.

She went out with him and came home all smiling and told me it was not awkward, it was not boring, and she hardly noticed what she was wearing....LOL.

Make what you want of this....

Only wear heels if you plan on wearing heels in your life. If a guy asks why you don't, RUN. and I loved heels before I fell in them pregnant (bh all good).

What she'd wear to a nice weekday event or party. Her best dressed up weekday look or a nice shabbos look that can go for a dressed up weekday event or just as well for a shabbos visit.

Heels- her decision. Best if not super high heel wedding shoes that she has trouble with.

I fall into this category. I wore a simple green Shabbos dress, did my hair and makeup, and bought heels for this. In the end I decided to wear flats, and we got married anyways. I think you’re fine either way. Does she like wearing heels?
