We need bookcases with doors for our basement, but our ceiling is a few inches too low for these bookcases. Any recommendations for bookcases with doors that are really strong (and a bit lower)?

They do a half sized Billy bookcase which is about a metre high. You can buy an extra shelf to go on top. It won't be floor to ceiling, but might give you enough space.

Thanks, I'd probably need multiple extra shelves, can you put more than one extra shelf?

Loving my Ikea Havsta. Much stronger than Billy, but also more expensive. and shorter.

We have the better home and gardens bookcase, no doors but it’s cheaper, sturdy and shorter so fits in our basement

The short ones aren’t made to go with the shelf extension but if you are handy you can add it but it won’t be perfect

Even the tall ones you can't put more than one extension on it.
I would skip Billy. Any reason you need the doors?
