Lol, I once had a whole long conversation with my husband and brother around the phrase, "his eyes twinkled", where I complained that that's not a thing! Eyes don't twinkle! And their entire rejoinder was "but you get what the author intends!"

You never met my husband. His eyes definitely twinkle.

But the recipes.
Everyone has money for every expensive ingredient. It's a given its the norm and I'm simply living under a rock that I don't even know these ingredients exist.

This must go back at least 30 years (were there frum mags then? Maybe a couple that don't exist anymore...)

My son commented something about the fairy tales where the mother has freshly baked brownies for the kids after school...

And how about those tablescapes folks? Exactly whom are you inviting to that gorgeous table?

I actually found some beautiful (but very fragile) inexpensive stemware, but when the grandkids got insulted that I was only using it for the adults,I put it away. (If it were easy to find more, I might risk it...)

Yup! I don't even know what some of the ingredients are! I've certainly never bought them.

If the crisis that is the plot of the serial costs a lot of money (I.e. therapy or lawyers or relocation etc), then the teenager in the family will desperately need new braces.

B”H every character has a Dumbledore-esque Rav to consult with, but only once their issue has escalated to tsunami proportions.

To be a main character, you must have some strain of basic communication issues.

Completely secular people being interviewed always have some sort of a pintele yid and they also all inject frum speak in their responses (not that the editor is taking any poetic license...)

Everyone has a really horrible medical condition that keeps getting worse until a miracle doctor discovers the obvious cure (I somehow always ending up crying anyway.)

All of the good, baalei midos husbands are either in kolel presently or learned in kolel.

The Rav of the shul always notices when someobody has a "weight on their shoulders", arranges a talk "by chance", and offers an eitzah that fixes the problem within a week or two.

When interviewing a panel of people about spending for a simchah, the most frugal couple on the panel is still quite spendy, as though to suggest that the bare bare minimum spending in our society is still on that lifestyle.

And conversely all the horrible husbands are money hungry businessmen
