The character in shidduchim is always reluctant to date whoever the shadchan sets her up with. And then...drumroll...he's the one!

Every family has a selfish and entitled daughter, who thinks the world revolves around her.
Sometimes there is a son but mostly a daughter.

Section on cleaning your home for Pesach, then gorgeous tablescapes, then gourmet Pesach menus, then family chol hamoed outings, then interacting with all the family including your selfish daughter in law and forgetful mother, topped off with a section on self care and looking after yourself.
Oh and how to make space by your entrance for a mud room.

The best friend always gives tough love and knocks some sense into the main character's head.
People who are upset do one of 3 things: wash clean dishes, scrub clean counters or take a walk with their walking partner.
Mothers are always kind, nurturing people who are riddled with mom guilt over everything.
Mothers are in the doctor's waiting room about 3 times a week and they always know what's wrong with their child better than the doctor knows.

People "narrow their eyes" and "let out the breath they did not know they were holding". I don't know anyone who does that IRL.
This thread is like a reincarnation of a thread I started years ago that I can't find now. Lets write the next great frum novel, or something like that. ALLLLL the clichés.

When someone hears mildly bad news the room starts spinning and she collapses into the nearest chair, she also feels like she got punched in the gut and her air leaves her lungs in a wooosh

Every child has a diagnosis. You just have to educate yourself and be guided to the right professional.
There’s fresh hot supper every day.

Ohhhh I thought of another one that really annoys me. Characters speak “huskily” ( what does that even mean??)

There are "gaggles" of children everywhere! (How many kids does it take to make a gaggle, anyway?!)

Also, people can make all different kinds of faces e.g she made a face as though to say "when will you be home from maariv?"
And he makes a face as though to say "around seven thirty" and she makes a face as though to say "fine, but not later".
And the target of these very specific faces interpret perfectly but no one around has a clue about the communication.
Sometimes I literally go to the mirror to try make the face described in the magazine but it doesn't exist. |
Haaaa! Too funny!! All of it.
