Question for all of you rear-facers:

Do your kids not get flack from their friends for being in a baby seat through age 6? How do you handle groups and carpool?

We just had a conversation about it. My super smart son told his friends off that "my mommy cares more about my safety than following whatever you do" . I was so proud. He didn't cave to peer pressure.

We just had a carseat installed in every car my kids were in. So if someone else took them home, they had our spare. We had a super lightweight and easy to install cosco brand one. We even bought for grandparents who did carpool occasionally for us.
Safety is our priority, not peer pressure.

I find this a huge frum issue. Non Jews and not frum people I know are more likely to keep their kids in the correct car seat. And won't booster until 7 or later.
Just because we may have more kids doesn't make safety fly our the window. Every kid is precious and needs a safe seat.

Car seats also expire. And must be tossed if in a car accident.

I had to switch my baby at 15 months, she gets so carsick she'll throw up non-stop (even on short rides). I'm honestly really paranoid about her safety facing forward...

My 3.5 year old is still rear facing. I have gotten into a fight with DH about it but it is the mountain im willing to die on. I dont compromise safety. Once we looked into it more he agreed with me. The video below helps you to visualize it. Id rather broken/hurt legs than a neck injury cv"s

My kids are proud to say it’s not safe to not be in a car seat or proper age appropriate booster. I told them to say I’d rather be alive and not injured. They know why they use it. Can you stop calling it a baby seat? There is nothing baby about it. The only baby seats are those that click on to strollers and no one over 1/1.5 fits in it.

One of my kids loved sitting in her infant car seat, it went up to 30 pounds and she was in elementary school when she was 30 pounds and loved to sit in it. In a car she used a booster. She was also FF by the time she was 1 1/2 (and about 18 pounds) on the advice of a pediatric NP since she was throwing up and getting nausea rear facing.
