If you have a son with HF ASD, what were his symptoms at this age?
Do you find it hard to love him as you much as you love your other kids?
What's the best intervention you feel did much?
Should I expect his issues to show more as he gets older or just opposite?
Are you concerned for his future?

Struggles with shared attention, social struggles (trouble making and keeping friends), going round and round with special interests. Getting stuck on parts of a task, atypical play (lining things up, stacking things, setting them on window sills, etc. instead of “functional play”). Anxiety. For one of them, severe separation anxiety, the other barely even seemed to notice if I was there or not. Fidgeting and “stimming” behaviors. Speech and motor delays. One of them showed severe cognitive delays on testing, even though it was clear he was very bright, just thought differently.

I will answer the rest of the questions later, but I love mine even more than my others. I feel protective of him, and I feel so bad that he struggles of no fault of his own. I am proud that Hashem felt that I would be able to care for him. And so I do my best...
