Adult DD is stuck at home for the summer- ( literally stuck in the house) she has finished the books on our shelves. I suggested I would go to the library- but have no idea what book would be kosher style- lite. Her favorite book is the Chosen and she has read all of Potok's other books. Any suggestions?

“The Brothers Ashkenazi” by IJ Singer.

Joseph Epstein has two short story collections — “The Goldin Boys” and “Fabulous Small Jews” — that she may like.

Kadia Molodowsky has a short story collection — “The House with the Seven Windows” — that is just phenomenal.

Malamud is good but can be inappropriate.

Chaim Potok isn’t exactly a frum writer… hence my recommendations were based on “Jewish-themed” rather than “frum” as such.
