I’ll start:

Chaviva Leah Goes to the Doctor

Three months after Chaviva Leah turned four, her preschool requested updated medical records. This reminded Chaviva Leah’s mother that she was overdue for a checkup and after a few tries and a week and a half, she managed to reach the receptionist when it wasn’t their lunch break and the office was still open.

Chaviva Leah’s mother snoozed her alarm clock, and then sat up with a jolt when she remembered the doctor’s appointment was scheduled for in a half hour. She quickly got dressed, davened, threw together a diaper bag for the baby and, well… *tried* to get Chaviva Leah dressed.

Chaviva Leah’s mother knew there was no use fighting this with her headstrong toddler. She pulled the yellow shirt out of the hamper and checked for ketchup stains. Looks safe. She sprayed it with febreeze and did a sniff test. She coughed. Good enough. She slid the slippers on after fastening Chaviva Leah’s Shabbos skirt. “I’m sure the doctor will understand. She sees plenty of toddlers.”

To be continued…
