I’ve used random liqueurs I found lying around and it worked totally fine.

and use water in a pinch.
The trick to a good Amaretto cake is in the beating of the eggs (I aim for a full 3 minutes), to get a good texture.

Just replace the 1/4 C vodka with an additional 1/4 C Amaretto.
I’ve done it multiple times - it tastes great.

You can keep amaretto extract on hand and mix it with water if you find you run out often.

You can also substitute with orange juicd
