How many hours is ideal to get pictures for bar mitzva event?

We did 4 hours and it was enough. If you have a large family you might want more.

We also did 4 hours. It was 1 hour family portraits and 3 hours at the event. Was plenty.

We started pictures 45 minutes before the event was called and it was perfect. We didn’t take extended family just us and grandparents, some indoors some outdoors but all at the hall.
How long you need for the actual event depends on what you’re doing and what’s normal in your community, we needed 3 hours so just under 4 total.

We did 1 hour outdoors before the party. Then about half an hour inside before the guests arrived with extended family and then the event was about 2-3 hours.
