Can anyone recommend an interesting hands on museum for kids ages 6-10? We live in brooklyn and are willing to travel 45-60 min.

Or anything else indoors that could be interesting.

Bonus points if admission is not pricey

My kids absolutely love the Museum of Natural History. Free for visitors from tribes state area (though ppl often don't realize this)

My kids found it too boring. It’s not hands on and a lot of walking. A lot of the concepts are too mature for this age.

I was going to mention that one although it can take a bit of time to get there depending on your subway lines.

I still remember visits there from when I was a child.

Also a regular museum like the Brooklyn Museum or the Metropolitan Museum also has exhibits that are of interest to various ages - and the Botanic Gardens is next door to the Brooklyn Museum.

My kids loved the Brooklyn Children's Museum at that age. They also loved Governor's Island but that's not a museum. The Jewish Children's Muesum is also good. (Keep in mind that my youngest is 15 so I haven't been to children's museums recently.

Staten island children's museum. It's under construction now, so part of it is closed. But my kids still had tons of fun. They also take cool culture.

Wait can we really use the covid ebt cards for museum? We don't have snap/food stamps but we did get pandemic debt

It would be amazing if we could get discounted admission!!
