Just realized that my cooked meat for shabbos was left on the counter overnight (covered)
Sad
Do I have to throw it out?
Any way to save it?
It smells fine just I'm scared its not safe

You're right to be concerned.

Unfortunately, two hours is the standard limit before you start getting all kinds of bacteria.

Toss it. Let it be for a kappora. I'm sorry, what a start to your erev Shabbos.

How many hours? What’s the temperature by you now inside and outside? Was the meat straight outta the oven hot?

Definitely toss it. The meat doesn’t have to smell bad for it to have bacteria in it. It’s not worth it trust me!

How long was it out? If you took it out of the oven piping hot at 1 a.m. and discovered it there at 6 a.m., I would put it in the fridge and use it because it took a good while for it to cool to room temperature. If it was out from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., I would toss.

Toss it. Food poisoning has no odor. Smelling doesn’t let you know if it’s ok. Food poisoning is brutal, it lasts weeks and often requires hospitalization, it’s never worth the risk.

Unfortunately toss it.

Smell has no kind of relevance for the kind of food poisoning that occurs from meat left out at room temperature for 8 hours.

It is "room temperature" that is the issue and not whether the A/C cooled it a bit - that is why refrigerators are much colder than room temperature because they need to be at a temperature that inhibits the growth of pathogens.

Whenever there is a post like this and people say it is safe, it makes me wonder whether I should question people's cooking habits before eating at their house. Very Happy

There was a thread yesterday about Crohn's disease yesterday and someone wrote that Ashkenazi had delicate stomachs and have a lot of issues besides Crohn's.

The reality is that a lot of those stomach issues are probably from eating meat left out on the counter because it didn't "smell".
