I seem to be the only person around here without cleaning help. Even worse, I'm terrible at cleaning my house. I hide things in draws, under beds and sofas. Opening closets can be a risky, you never know what tumble out. I don't even want to begin to describe my kitchen.

I need cleaning help, but can't afford it! Am I the only amother out there who needs but doesn't have? It feels like I am!

Of course you're not. It's just that there's not really a lot that those of us without cleaning help can contribute on the cleaning help threads, so we keep quiet.

I have no helpful advice on staying organized. My only ways to create a semi-clean house involve getting rid of stuff whenever possible and having a really, really helpful dh.

does my 5 year old count as cleaning help? I have her & a my swiffer mop. they both work for free though.

I do have cleaning help, B"H, so I shouldn't be over here, but my almost 4 year old also loves to clean. He always did. When the cleaning lady comes, she gives him a wet shmata and he cleans the mirror. My almost 6 year old says he wants money, so I put him to work. He took off all the bedspreads and I ended up giving him $1.70.

she cleans my den for me like a pro. I can't bend down anymore to pick up the steady stream of mess produced from my 18 month old. she also runs up and down the stairs for me. she is also nearly never home. at age 5 she leaves at 7:55 and gets home at 4:00.

Nothin like being a stay at home mom and being told your house isn't clean... that is my life presently. Everyone I know has maids too but I can't afford it. If anyone complains about the state of my house I tell them they are welcome to pick up a mop, broom, or any other cleaning acutriments to help me or pay for my maid if they don't there will be no complaining in my house.

Me too. Ever since I moved to this new town....cleaning help costs 3-4x as much (I used to pay $20/wk, here they ask $80 for the same work)

I might just get someone once a month if that's the case...but I can usually keep the daily mess together.

And I thought my 5 yr old's schedule was bad, going to school from 9-4.

How often can SAHM's without cleaning help get the real scrubbing done? My latest trick when my bathroom feels dirty is to change the shower curtain embarrassed

. I buy the cheap liners for a dollar or two, and the new plastic smell gives it a clean feel.

school is from 8:30-3:50, but she takes the bus & she is the first stop on & off. the school is around the corner. I could drive her everyday but girls only get one year of bussing & I wanted to take advantage. also I'm due next month & the thought of having to bundle her plus my 18 month old and a new baby into the car twice a day, everyday made me sign up for the bus rather quickly. if she was more clingy I wouldn't be able to though.

as for the scrubbing, I only get anything done during naptime. dd takes 2 naps & I have my projects planned out in advance, or I'd never get anything done. my scrubbing is gone with the wind at the moment due to lack of mobility, but I try.

for a short while I was having off and on. Now I do it myself 1. It's great excercise 2. a wonderful sense of acomplishment having done it yourself and 3. SO my house does have dust and handprints on glass windows b"h it's lived in not a museum.

Yes cleanliness is next to G-dliness however we are not talking about dirt but a lived in look . And as long as the kitchen looks like a kitchen and the bedrooms look like a bedroom etc and not the other way around then I think u are doing just fine Wink

I only get cleaning help once in a blue moon when I feel like I'm about to collapse. but even that was really only when I was pregnant and couldnt move, and when I'm so exhausted cuz my baby keeps me up at nite.

otherwise, I do it myself. and I often go to bed with dishes still in the sink shock
