I personally don't like it. It reminds me of furniture doilies every time I see people wear such tops, without the pattern.

There was a top with crochet sleeves in our frum clothing store.
I would never buy it. It looked like what my grandma ah would have crocheted25 years ago.

I guess it only works on certain people who are built a certain way. I, however, will not and cannot pull that off. But again, I wouldn't buy it 😂
