I was recently at the bar mitzvah of a son of a childhood friend. We rarely speak, but being with her and her family was like no time had ever passed in between. We practically grew up in each other's homes.

Probably the oldest item would be the necklace that my grandmother gave me for my eighth-grade graduation (back in the 1900s Wink

)
My grandmother had a magnificent bracelet with many unique charms. When each granddaughter graduated eighth grade, she was allowed to choose one charm and my grandmother had it put onto a necklace for her.
It's still my favorite piece of jewelry; it's unique and beautiful.

When I was a child, I liked Granny Smith. Now I prefer red-yellow apples. There was a period where I almost forgot about them and bought other fruit, like oranges, mandarines, pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, nectarines, blueberries.
