For more serious places how long is the process from farher to acceptance/rejection?

We got answers in a range from same day to a few weeks. They usually indicate when they'll get back to you, some spoke directly to the rebbe. It's possible the shorter response times were due to research being done before the farher instead of afterwards.

Is it not a good sign if he didn’t get an answer same day. He thinks farher went well. Then they left it that they’ll be in touch.

Call your sons Rosh hayeshiva he will know? Op is this lakewood or elsewhere because lakewood has its own set of rules?

We only got one response same day and it wasn't in Lakewood.
I know of acceptances from Lakewood that took a few weeks...I would not read much into it.

I’m doing this for the first time.
It seems to me the rebbe calls the place you want to send and pushes for an answer from them.
Like we are deciding between 2 places and seems like both are waiting to hear from us so we better hurry. But we don’t have a firm yes.
If it’s a for sure no it seems like that you get right away.
